Many customers wanted a way to have custom schedules for specific dates on a calendar. Now you can make your call menu do something specific (and spooky) on just October 31st.
New Feature :: Night Mode
Using *66 (*NM, standing for Night Mode) or the Options->settings page, you can now enable and disable night mode! To control how night mode works, use the sequence "Go to submenu/ext. when in Night Mode" from the call menu. So, have your office manager dial 3 keys on their phone and your Call Menu will go to work so you can go to sleep.

We have added a "Play Ringing" sequence which you can use to play ringing to the caller for a specified amount of time. This is useful in cases where your carrier may cut off the first few seconds of audio when someone calls in, so adding a "Play Ringing" sequence for 2 seconds will simply add, at maximum, 2 seconds of ringing when callers dial in rather than possibly cutting off part of a voice prompt.

Want to change your extension number and not call support or jump through hoops? Well, now you can! If you are using Aastra, Cisco, or Polycom, the process is now simple. Just use your Web Admin Panel to assign your phone a new extension number and then reboot your phone. The new extension number even reads correctly on your LCD screen!

Dial plans are now pushed to your individual phones. This means that your phone will correctly figure out the difference between when you are dialing an extension and a phone number. It will better understand the difference between a local and long-distance call. All in all, this means that you don't have to edit the dial plan of every individual phone anymore. The Admin Panel will do it for you when you update or add an extension! Let your phone do the thinking, you just do the dialing.

This is not recommended and should only be used if necessary. You can enable this from the Options->settings page.

Now, whenever the internal or external IP address of a linked server changes, the new IP will automatically be visible to all of the servers linked to it and they will still be in communication with the server.
New Feature :: Transfer and Clear Functionality (Centrex lines)
You can now enable "Transfer and Clear" functionality on your analog lines, provided your analog lines support this feature. Typically Centrex lines will have this functionality while standard analog lines will not. This feature will allow you to blind transfer calls out of your system without tying up any lines.
New Feature :: Voicemail Escape Keys "0" and "*"
From the Options->settings page, you can now define where the two Voicemail system escape keys, "0" and "*", route to. You can individually route each one to a different submenu!
New Feature :: Route Calls by Caller-ID Area Code / Prefix
You can now use the "Go to submenu/ext. by Caller-ID number" to route calls based off of the beginning of the Caller-ID number. For example, you can route calls by just the area code or even by the prefix of the number (also known as the NXX).

Due to popular demand, we've added the ability to forward an extension to any submenu on your system from the Extensions page. This allows you to send calls to a specific extension to a queue, blast group, or any submenu of your choice!

New Tweak :: Dial Plan Allows Prepending "+"
In rare cases, VoIP carriers require a "+" (plus sign) prepended to the number getting dialed out, sometimes called "E.164 VoIP compliance". The dial plan now allows you to add the "+" character to the prepend string.
New Tweak :: Voicemail Password changed to type: password
Previously we were showing user voicemail passwords to administrators as text. Now we have begun to show them as type password (so it shows as **** instead of 3456). Thanks to 24x7 for this suggestion.
Bug Fix :: Deleting Extensions with Multiple Servers
If you have multiple servers, deleting a single extension would previously delete that same extension on all of your servers. We\'ve resolved this, although this is typically not a problem as linked servers do not allow you to have the same extensions across the servers.
Bug Fix :: Extensions added to groups via "Auto-add New Users" work with HUD
In the past, HUD permissions were not updated correctly when extensions were automatically added to groups. This caused HUD to behave differently than what the Admin Panel displayed.

On some dial plans with multiple routes, the fail over would not occur in certain cases. This has been resolved to make sure that any time a primary route is not working properly, the failover route will be used.
Bug Fix :: Call Menu Keypresses
Fixed a minor bug which allowed customers to "Add New Keypress" where the first digit was used by an extension range (so you could add Keypress "1" if you had extension "100"). This makes the Call Menu slow to callers because it cannot figure out, after "1" has been pressed, if the caller meant to go to Keypress "1" or it should wait 5 seconds to see if the caller was going to dial "100". This five second delay makes our software look slow, when really it was acting smart! So, we have disallowed customers from using Keypresses with overlapping Extension digits. Whew.

Submenus are no longer allowed to call themselves. This includes a direct call, a scheduled call or a Caller-ID call. Endless loops were being created, and if the Submenu was empty, PBXtra could eventually crash.

New Feature :: Zone Paging
Using the new "Extension Groups", you can now page a customizable group of extensions. Simply dial *75[group] to page that group (page = only you can speak). Note: in order to page, the group that your extension is in must have the proper permission ("Group Page") over the group which contains the extensions that you are paging. That last sentence was a real humdinger so it may require that you read it again.
New Feature :: Zone Intercom
Using the new "Extension Groups", you can now intercom either an individual extension or a customizable group of extensions. Simply dial *74[ext] to intercom that extension or *74[group] to intercom that group (intercome = both parties can speak). Group intercom is a very cool feature, and not one that is found on many phone systems in the entire world. Note: in order to group intercom, the group that your extension is in must have the proper permission ("Group Intercom" or "Individual Intercom") over the group which contains the extensions that you are intercoming. Yes, you read that last sentence correctly and we would like to apologize for its confusing nature as we feel it was a likely, yet unfortunate, bi-product of our professional copywriter being away on vacation.
New Tweak :: Adding New Groups
Upon adding a new group, previously called a "Rights Group", you will immediately be able to apply permissions to the group you're creating before you ever create the group.

We've renamed the "Rights" section, previously only available in "Call Center Edition", to "Groups". Bug Fix :: Multiple Servers and Same Extensions
If you have multiple servers with the same extensions, queues would improperly show names of extensions from other servers on the server you're accessing. This bug has been corrected.
Bug Fix :: Deleting Extensions deletes from Queues
Previously, when deleting an extension, the extension would remain in any queues which it was in. It would then end up looking like a "ghost" user which could not be deleted. Deleting extensions will not remove the extension from any queues they exist in.

New Feature :: Skip the Outbound Message
People who call your extension can now press "#" to skip your outbound message and go straight to the "beep".
New Tweak :: Busy and Unavailable Messages
Callers will now hear your "Busy message" only when you are on the phone, reject a call, or enable Do Not Disturb on your phone. Callers will hear your "Unavailable message" if you do not pick up your phone or do not have your phone connected/online.
Bug Fix :: No Ringing on Call Forwarding
In very rare cases, when an extension is set to forward to another extension, "return to voicemail" is enabled in call forwarding, and the forwarded extension is on a call, there will be no ring tone when dialing the extension. This issue has been resolved.
PBXtra Admin Panel :: All Editions
New Feature :: Download your Voice Prompts
A new download button has been added to your Voice Prompts page allowing you to download your existing voice prompts and save them to your local computer. This makes it much easier to transfer voice prompts between branch offices.
New Feature :: Local Server Dial Plan Route
There is now a new route in your dial plan called "Local Server". This route actually sends the call directly to your server without the call ever leaving. This allows you to create a dial plan for a specific number that could route directly to an extension on your system. This is useful if you have remote phones where users dial numbers on your system that should just route to other extensions, rather than tying up two lines.
New Feature :: Easy VoIP Account Setup
Now, with a few clicks of the mouse, you can add a VoIP trunk (SIP or IAX2) to your PBXtra. We have simplified the once arduous process of adding VoIP trunks, by building templates for today's popular VoIP carriers. This means you can now add a VoIP account in seconds. Once your VoIP account has been added, you can now use it in your dial-plan to route calls over the appropriate SIP, IAX, or PSTN carrier. VoIP setup has never been so easy!
New Feature :: Call Forwarding from the Call Menu
You can now easily call forward to any number or extension from a call menu without having to use or dedicate an extension. Simply add the "Call Forward to Number" sequence found in your call menu, enter the number that you wish to call forward just as you would dial it on your phone, and you're set!
New Feature :: Caller-ID on Call Forwarding
We have added a feature that allows you to specify whether the Caller-ID upon call forwarded calls will be the original Caller-ID or the Global Caller-ID of your system. Some carriers will not allow calls to go out of your system in a call forwarding situation if the Caller-ID is that of the original caller.
New Feature :: Enhanced Phone Number Area

For systems with lots of DIDs and extensions, incoming call routing can be slow. To greatly improve the speed, we implemented a feature that allows you to route all incoming calls to an extension where the last X digits of the DID match the extension number. You can select this number of digits under Options->settings.
New Tweak :: CSV Call Reporting can display call type
When running a CSV call report from the Reporting tab, you can now view the call type (inbound, outbound, etc.). See the "Show as CSV" rollover help for more information.

New Tweak :: Overlapping Keypresses/Extensions Now Prohibited
Previously, customers were allowed to create Keypresses in their Submenus which overlapped with the first digit of their extension range. For instance, if a customer had extensions in the range of 7000, they *were* allowed to have a Keypress of "7". However, the side effect of this overlap was that PBXtra would have to pause for 4 seconds when a caller pressed "7" - to see if the caller was actually planning to enter a full extension, or simply wanted to go to Keypress "7". This pause was making our software look slow (when really it was being smart). So, we have removed the ability to have overlapping of any kind. This means that if you have extensions in the 7000 and 8000 range you will now *not* be able to use Keypresses "7" and "8" *anywhere* in your Call Menu. Existing customers that have overlap can keep them, but they cannot ever add them back once they delete them from any Submenu.
New Tweak :: Speed Improvements to ACD Reporting

With all of the additional features we've been adding, some portions of the PBXtra Admin Panel have slowed down. When using the "Remember my password" feature of Firefox and updating an extension, the web username and password would be replaced with your admin username and password. We have made adjustments to prevent this bug from occurring.
Bug Fix :: Direct-Dials to Zap Channels Now Show
The "view extensions" screen used to show direct-dials to zap channels as "Zap[xxx]" - now it shows as "Card 1 Port 2" (according to the number of cards and TDM ports on your PBXtra.
Bug Fix :: Edit Call Menu
In some cases, accessing the AutoAnswer->edit call menu page would display errors that are now patched.
Bug Fix :: Reporting Duplicate Calls
The reporting section would previously display duplicate calls when using the "call-back" feature of your phone, as well as some cases on inbound calls. These calls will now only display in the Reporting section once.
Bug Fix :: Rollover Help in ACD add/edit queue fixed
The rollover help was behaving strangely in certain portions of the ACD queue add/edit screen. This has been repaired and we have returned to a state of intergalactic peace and prosperity which promotes interstellar commerce and, more than anything, makes the spice trade-routes once again viable.
Bug Fix :: Dial Plan now allows you to call Telco Operator
A bug has been fixed which was preventing people from making dial plans that were simply 9+0. This dial plan is needed if a customer wants to call their local Telco operator.

You can now log an agent in through a special extension which respects call forwarding. You can use this in conjunction with Press-to-Accept in order to make sure the user picked up rather than an automated voicemail system.

This new feature allows users, when listening to a voicemail, to press a key on their phone to call back the person who left the message. This feature is found in edit/add extensions and may be enabled/disabled on a per-extension basis.

This new feature allows users, when inside the voicemail system, to press a key on their phone to make a call to another phone number or extension. This feature is found in edit/add extension and may be enabled/disabled on a per-extension basis.

New Feature :: Voicemail Follow
When forwarding your extension to another extension, voicemail can now (optionally) follow. This means that you can make it so that the voicemail of the original (forwarded) extension picks up and not the voicemail of the extension you are forwarding to. This feature is found in the PBXtra User Panel under the Features tab in the Call Forwarding section.
New Feature :: Delete When Emailed
This new feature allows voicemails to be deleted off the PBXtra server as soon as they are emailed. Before this feature, users that received voicemails as email would have to also delete each voicemail from the server. This new feature is found in the PBXtra User Panel under the "Voicemail" tab.
New Tweak :: Extension identification
When logged in, the lower right corner now shows user's extension number instead of user's (fairly irrelevant) username.
Bug Fix :: Double login
When accessing the PBXtra User Panel with only the URL "http://cp.fonality.com/" or "http://cp.fonality.com/cp.cgi", the authentication cookie was not read and the browser was redirected to the login screen. This has been repaired.
Bug Fix :: "Features" tab information change notice error
The location information reported as changed or saved (if it was the first time editing the page) even if no information was different.
